Robert Calafiore is an artist, arts administrator and educator, based in West Hartford, Connecticut. His work is exhibited both nationally and internationally. He is represented by ClampArt, NYC and Foto Relevance, Houston, Texas. His figurative work attempts to truthfully document and share his experiences of beauty. CPW — MARTIN MUNKACSI On July 14, 1963, the legendary Hungarian photographer Martin Munkacsi (b. 1896) died after suffering a heart attack while attending a soccer game at Randall’s Island. His New York City-born daughter, Joan, was suddenly left fatherless and saddled with the stewardship of CPW — DULCE PINZÓN Each portrait depicts the worker dressed as a superhero within their work environment, and is accompanied by a short text including the worker’s name, their hometown in Mexico, the number of years they have been working in New York, and the amount of money they send to Mexico each week.
