Climate Change AI (CCAI) is an organization composed of volunteers from academia and industry who believe that tackling climate change requires concerted societal action, in which machine learning can play an impactful role. Since it was founded in June 2019, CCAI has led the creation of a global movement in climate change and machine learningCLIMATE CHANGE AI
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity, and we, as machine learning experts, may wonder how we can help. In our paper “Tackling Climate Change with Machine Learning,” we describe how machine learning can be a powerful tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and helping society adapt to a changing climate. TACKLING CLIMATE CHANGE WITH MACHINE LEARNING This workshop highlights work that demonstrates that, while no silver bullet, ML can be an invaluable tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and in helping society adapt to the effects of climate change. Climate change is a complex problem, for which action takes many forms - from theoretical advances to deployment of newtechnology.
CLIMATE CHANGE: HOW CAN AI HELP? Many in the ML community wish to take action on climate change, yet feel their skills are inapplicable. This workshop aims to show that in fact the opposite is true: while no silver bullet, ML can be an invaluable tool both in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and in helping society adapt to the effects of climate change.
