LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: GREAT GEAR! The first depth sounder on this boat was a unit from the mid 70s which came with it. It actually worked fine for a couple of years, even after seven years on the hard. LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: 2012 Quite a few of you reading this know of Aduana, my Cuban rescue pup, and some of you ha ve me t her, but not everyone knows the story behind how she left Cuba to come to the US and then Canada. First, some facts. Aduana is four years old this winter, and 34 po unds. She 'adopted' me at two months of age, when I was in Veradero, Cuba. LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: NOVEMBER 2016 The following day, most of the group headed out for Savannah to explore. Others just hung out and enjoyed the yacht club and facilities, which were made available for our group - LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: NOVEMBER 2015 Five restaurants provided munchies as we partied in the Bake Bottle Brew Restaurant, again with entertainment, and a welcome from the town.Swansboro has these lovely new town docks you see, and they wanted other cruisers to know about them, so they made Sail to the Sun ICW Rally their first 'guests', hoping we'll tell the world what a great place Swansboro is to stop. LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: JUNE 2015 On the serious side, when you’re cruising in areas off the beaten path, medical considerations have to be thought out in advance. To that end, I carry a fairly comprehensive first aid kit, the Marine Series 400 by Adventure Medical Kits. LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: 2014 Sailing south from the Great Lakes to Miami on the ICW, enjoy the adventure with Wally, Wonderdog Aduana, and Gypsy Wind. LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: JULY 2017 You could also consider a mooring field. There are mooring fields in St. Augustine, Titusville, Stuart and Vero Beach. Of those, Titusville and Stuart offer the best chance of getting a spot, but Vero Beach is far and away the safest place of the three to leave your boat on aball.
LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: ANYONE WANT A FREE BOAT? I just received an email from a woman today who is trying to deal with a part of her father's legacy, a 1919 Trumpy yacht. There were 450 Trumpys built in the United States, and even today, those remaining on the water attract admiring looks, oohs and ahhhs. LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: JULY 2014 I may start in the early mornings and do short hops up the coast - Fernandina Beach to St. Simons, St. Simons to St. Catherines, then Tybee Roads into Hilton Head, Hilton Head to Charleston, to Winyah Bay, then Little River Inlet, Southport, then back on to the ICW, getting in early and avoiding the fun offshore when the winds andwaves kick up.

In the full video, you'll discover all the tricks and tips that I've discovered in 27 trips, and turn your trip from a purgatory to the enjoyable passage itshould be.

This year's Rally started off with 18 boats, the smallest being 26 feet and the largest nearly double that, a 50 foot Hunter. LIVEBLOGGIN' THE ICW: WALLY? HELLO? WALLY, YOU HERE?
