EMPTY THE SHELTERS

Empty Shelters = Full Hearts. Finding a loving, forever home for every pet is the ultimate goal of BISSELL Pet Foundation. Sometimes our furry friends need a little extra help, and that’s why we created Empty the Shelters adoption events that take place across the country. ETS RESOURCES FOR PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS Requirements. • The public should be charged $25 per pet in addition to microchip registration fees and any licensing fee your state requires. • All cats and dogs must be spayed/neutered, microchipped and registered. • Adoption Surveys are required in order to receive reimbursement. Cathy Bissell Cathy is the Founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation (BPF), Director of Corporate Affairs for BISSELL Inc, and Co-founder of LostPetUSA.net, a searchable nationwide database with essential tools and resources to easily and efficiently reunite lost pets with their families. At BPF, Cathy innovates to bring awareness to animal welfare and the importance of pet adoption. Making an Impact in 50 States BISSELL Pet Foundation supports programs and initiatives that are focused on addressing the pet overpopulation crisis in our country. Through funding for pet adoption, spay/neuter, microchipping and emergencies we are making a difference to reduce the number of pets in shelters and rescues. We are proud to have supported 2021 WALKTAIL RULES AND REGULATIONS 2021 Walktail Official Rules for Prize 2021 Rules & Regulations for Shelter Participants EMPTY THE SHELTERS: NATIONAL JULY 2020 Over 3 days, BISSELL Pet Foundation partnered with 159 shelter and rescue organizations in 33 states to sponsor adoptable animals at a reduced adoption fee during Empty the Shelters. BISSELL Pet Foundation covers the cost of all adoptions except for $25. We’re proud to announce that 3,284 pets found furever homes – 1,946 cats and kittens and 1,338 dogs and puppies. In GRANT GUIDELINES & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Partner Grant Eligibility Requirements: Your organization must: Actively help to reduce the number of homeless animals in the community through one or more of the following activities: spay/neuter, microchipping, and/or adoption. Be a member in good standing of the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Partners for Pets (P4P) program for at least 6 months BISSELL PET FOUNDATION SHEDS LIGHT ON SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES! The lighting was inadequate, causing the room to get extremely hot and the vet often got headaches from the extreme heat and poor lighting. This made spay/neuter surgeries last longer and with the decrease in efficiency, less animals were being spayed/neutered in a day.
