After consulting with our artists and partners, Big Medium has decided to postpone the West Austin Studio Tour (WEST). In response to the impact of the COVID‑19 pandemic on the artist community, in June 2020 Big Medium created a temporary fund to support the needs of Austin artists who have been affected by the economic fallout due to postponed or cancelled arts‑related events, loss of arts‑related work, or loss of supplemental income.STUDIOS AT CANOPY
About. Canopy is a creative community of artist studios, creative office spaces, art galleries and a café. Big Medium moved into Canopy in 2013 and currently offers studio spaces for over 60 artists at the lowest sustainable rate. Through Canopy, Big Medium works to foster the arts and facilitate an inclusive cultural dialogue between artists and their communities.TITO'S PRIZE
The Tito's Prize is intended to provide an artist the means to take a new step in their career. Big Medium hopes the award will have a meaningful impact on Jackson and Love's artistic practice and help deepen their roots in Austin. The exhibition will open with a special reception on Friday, October 23, 2021 and run through January 8, 2022. ARTIST FEATURE: DAN JIAN Dan Jian is a visual artist who works across painting, drawing, animation, and video. Dan holds an MFA degree from Ohio State University, Dan's solo and group shows were exhibited nationally across the US, as well as internationally in China and Italy.
