Beneficial Beans® SARRC's Beneficial Beans program is a dynamic internship program for adults with autism offering unique, hands-on experience in retail and marketing, business administration, and agriculture production. Participation in a Beneficial Beans internship allows individuals transferable skills they can readily use to sustain their future financial independence. SIBSHOPS: A SPACE FOR SIBLINGS SIBSHOPS: A SPACE FOR SIBLINGS (AGES 7-13) The Sibshops model provides an avenue for siblings to form a community and share experiences that could lead to a positive impact. Siblings will share many of the same concerns that parents experience but have a unique perspective. Sibshops are pedal-to-the-metal events where participants will meet other sibs (usually for the first NODA™ APP HELPS MALLON FAMILY OBTAIN EXPEDITED DIAGNOSIS When their son, Sage, was 23 months old, Ian and Jessica Mallon were concerned about his development — namely, language delays and sensory issues. It was suggested they check out NODA™ — the Naturalistic Observation Diagnostic Assessment—a smartphone app that’s been proven to expedite the autism diagnostic process. EMPLOYMENT PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM Employment Partnerships Program Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) creates partnerships with local and national employers to increase competitive, community-based employment opportunities for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Nationally, only 10 percent of adults with ASD are employed, but through the help of our valued employment partners, SARRC is committed to SIBSHOPS: A SPACE FOR SIBLINGS SIBSHOPS: A SPACE FOR SIBLINGS (AGES 7-13) The Sibshops model provides an avenue for siblings to form a community and share experiences that could lead to a positive impact. Siblings will share many of the same concerns that parents experience but have a unique perspective. Sibshops are pedal-to-the-metal events where participants will meet other sibs (usually for the first NODA™ APP HELPS MALLON FAMILY OBTAIN EXPEDITED DIAGNOSIS When their son, Sage, was 23 months old, Ian and Jessica Mallon were concerned about his development — namely, language delays and sensory issues. SARRC has introduced a new autism screening program aimed at parents of young children who have concerns with their child’s development. The Easy Access Autism Screening program is a project funded by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona and is offered to families at no cost.
