MIKE HUCKABEE DELTA RIVERS NATURE CENTER The Governor Mike Huckabee Delta Rivers Nature Center teaches visitors the Delta’s heritage, wildlife and ecology in both indoor and outdoor settings. The center sits between Lake Saracen and Lake Langhofer. Native fish can be seen in our 20,000 gallon aquarium as well as native reptiles and some amazing birds of prey housed at the

facility.

ST. FRANCIS SUNKEN LANDS WATER TRAIL St. Francis Sunken Lands Water Trail. New Madrid earthquakes that rocked the region in 1811-12 created the Sunken Lands. Ground along the St. Francis River dropped 6-8 feet over an area of about 30 miles and was flooded – hence the name The Great Swamp. River JIM HINKLE SPRING RIVER STATE FISH HATCHERY The Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery is on a 7-acre island in the middle of the Spring River near Mammoth Spring in Fulton County. The hatchery is one of the largest state-owned trout-producing facilities in the southeastern United States and is the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s only coldwater facility. J.B. AND JOHNELLE HUNT FAMILY OZARK HIGHLANDS NATURE CENTER The J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center opened its doors to the public on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020. Visiting the center is free, thanks to Amendment 75 and the 1/8th-Cent Conservation Fund. The center, located at 3400 North 40th Street in Springdale, is open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sundays.

May 6, 2021. Doug Isanhart of Conway enjoyed the brown trout fishing on the misty White River below Bull Shoals Dam on Monday of this week. FISHING LICENSES

Resident 3-Day Trip Fishing License (RT3) Entitles a resident to fish the waters of the state with sport fishing tackle for the three-day period specified. A Resident Trout Permit also must be purchased to retain trout or to fish in certain waters. $6.50.

HUNTING LICENSES

Non-Resident 5-Day WMA Waterfowl Permit (NW5) In addition to a valid Arkansas hunting license, non-residents must purchase a permit to hunt waterfowl on certain wildlife management areas during regular duck season. A limit of six 5-day permits per waterfowl season per

FISH ATTRACTORS

The AGFC places fish attractors made of cane, brush, trees and PVC in many Arkansas lakes to help anglers find fish throughout the year. In many cases local anglers, federal agencies and other partners help in the creation and placement of these fish attractors. J.B. ELK - AGFC

The Core Elk Management Zone Private Land Hunt only takes place in Boone, Carroll, Madison, Newton and Searcy counties and has a quota is 35 total, 10 either sex and 25 antlerless elk. Bull hunters must call 800-440-1477 after 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. each day to see if the quota has

been reached.

CONSERVATION SCHOLARSHIP The AGFC Conservation scholarship grants $1,000 per semester for freshman and sophomore students; $1,500 per semester for junior and senior students; $2,000 per semester for graduate students, based on continued eligibility. Awardees are eligible for up to eight semesters of scholarship funding. If these eight semesters are non-consecutive,
