The grantor and grantee indexes for the York County Deed Books from 1749 through 1943 are searchable on their website. Please keep in mind that many unrecorded deeds still remain in LEWIS MILLER UNPUBLISHED: A VIRTUAL EXHIBIT Henry Barratt (1817-1891) was an artist who captured York people and scenes of over 100 years ago. He is listed variously in York City directories as a photographer, an artist, a crayon artist, and as proprietor of his own drawing school. Yorker Lewis Miller (1796-1882) stated that his aim was to chronicle York in his art, succeeding sowell

June 19th or “Juneteenth” is the anniversary of when the news finally reached the Black residents of Texas two and half years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation declaring all LEWIS MILLER UNPUBLISHED: A VIRTUAL EXHIBIT Henry Barratt (1817-1891) was an artist who captured York people and scenes of over 100 years ago. He is listed variously in York City directories as a photographer, an artist, a crayon artist, and as proprietor of his own drawing school. Yorker Lewis Miller (1796-1882) stated that his aim was to chronicle York in his art, succeeding sowell
