YARAT Contemporary Art Centre is the first permanent space for YARAT. It is housed in a converted Soviet-era naval building overlooking the Caspian Sea which acted as a maintenance base for navy ships in the 1960s. The conversion has created a 2,000m2 exhibition space spreadover two floors.

YARAT CENTRE: FRAGILE FRONTIERS YARAT announces the group exhibition Fragile Frontiers: Visions on Iran’s in/visible borders, running from 22 November 2019 – 16 February 2020, presenting newly commissioned as well as recent works of 15 artists who view frontiers as precarious, ephemeral or frictional, arguing that no border – whether cultural, territorial or psychological – is completely durable. PAINTING MUSEUM: MAKE AN ISLAND FOR YOURSELF YARAT Contemporary Art Space is presenting the exhibition project “Make an Island For Yourself”.Composed from both private and public collections, the exhibition is held at the Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the XX-XXI Centuries and includes works created in the late 80s – first half of the 90s of the 20 th Centuries by 21 Azerbaijani artists of different generations. AZERBAIJANI ARTISTS TO FEATURE AT VENICE BIENALLE IN Dina Nasser-Khadivi is an independent curator and consultant, specialising in Contemporary Art from the Middle East, Iran and selected areas of the Caucasus. YARAT Contemporary Art Centre is the first permanent space for YARAT. It is housed in a converted Soviet-era naval building overlooking the Caspian Sea which acted as a maintenance base for navy ships in the 1960s. The conversion has created a 2,000m2 exhibition space spreadover two floors.
