It is, however; saying "Take me to the dealer!", or try a different code reader that offers a deeper layer of reading ability. My research is saying CC-ID 029 is a BMW and therefore MINI specificcode.
2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - NEW HERE, DREADED P1497 CODE. S. New here, dreaded P1497 code. Im getting the P1497 code, downstream air leak. Rough idle and no power/boost like before. What I have done and what is done. New timing chain/tensioner ect from dealership ( yay 3600 gone. ) Have sprayed starting fluid all around the valve cover/clamps from turbo to throttle body, no response from motor. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - 2010 AC NOISE Octaneguy, Sep 19, 2010. Easiest way to hear this is to let the engine idle in neutral, and listen (windows closed). Now turn on the AC, and compare. Rev the motor a bit, and you will hear a change in sound. Now the half power Check Engine Light is on above the steering when but there are no warning lights on the center dash display. INTERIOR - 2ND GEN - HOW TO: INSTALLING AFTERMARKET SEATS Very nice write-up! It looks like you did a very nice job, and kudos for retaining all the factory seatbelt/airbag stuff. I only have one concern; not using the seats lap-belt slots means the lap belt might not be as effective as the stock seats, since the belt is straddling the seat side bolsters and not fully wrapping around the occupants'hips.

I've read that the code relates to the high-pressure fuel pump. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - NEED HELP PERFORMING A Sort of wanted to clarify what I said, as far as "normal operation" goes, if there's too much of a difference between one or more of the cylinders the ECU will read it as a fault & give you a missfire code, if there's not the car should "act" normal, but if it were truly that low overall, even though the ecu isn't recognizing a fault there is a problem somewhere, I'd say a leakdown test is in 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - ODD ELECTRICAL PROBLEM I hope it is an easy fix for you. I wondering if there is a bad ground or positive connection at the started. Man, what a world of difference, Not only was the chatter gone, it actually smoothened the engine. So significant that it feels brand new. That is how my original trans failed, I had misdiagnosed it as the standard dual mass flywheel noise and never even considered anything else until after a clutch and flywheel replacement failed to cure theproblem.

The engine doesn't sound abnormal, idles fine, and does not give off any suspicious odors. I drove it under 30mph around the block and it seemsto be fine.

1ST GEN - R53 - COOPER - S - MY FAN USED TO RUN WHEN I check your low speed fan. There is a low speed fan and high speed fan. They are triggered by temperature conditions. The low speed is controlled thru a resistor in the fan housing. It tends to burn out. If this is the case the symptom will be that if you idle the car with no A/C the fan will not turn on. Removing the sub frame, bumper cover, bumper, and placing the radiator support in service mode (or removal) is required to perform clutch replacement and/or LSD & ATB differential 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - MINI COOPER S SPUTTERING ISSUE Hello again all you MINIons, lol. My wife's 08 R56 is having a sputtering issue. I've replaced the plugs and ignition coils, and we are still having the issue, especially at idle. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - CC-ID 029 Hello all. I recently had my timing chain and tensioner replaced at the dealer. My 2007 Mini Cooper S has 72,000 miles. Now the half power Check Engine Light is on above the steering when but there are no warning lights on the center dash display. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - HALF YELLOW CEL, BUT ENGINEMINI COOPER ENGINE MALFUNCTION YELLOWMINI COOPER ENGINE MALFUNCTION YELLOW It's 70 degrees outside and my 2011 MCS with 11600 miles is giving me the half yellow CEL for the first time ever. I've read that the code relates to the high-pressure fuel pump. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - ODD ELECTRICAL PROBLEM I hope it is an easy fix for you. I wondering if there is a bad ground or positive connection at the started. I don't think it is Saturday, mine doesn't like Monday's. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - 2010 AC NOISE If you are talking about a change in pitch, almost a whine that can be heard with the AC on, especially noticeable when accelerating, then I know what you are talking about. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - THROTTLE ISSUE? Finally i took it to a tech, he removed it and found out that the valve would not open/close when pressed manually with his bare hands! It was the mechanism that was faulty, that's why the valve would not turn when pressed. 2 out of10 times when pressed it would turn, the rest, it would stay stiff! 1ST GEN - R53 - COOPER - S - BLOWN SPARK PLUG Ok sorry that might be a bad choice of words but I know of many aluminum block heads that are not prone to the issue of the heating and cooling of the block allowing for the expansion on the aluminum causing plugs to go loose and cause this issue. 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - TIRE SIZE QUESTIONMINI COOPER RECOMMENDED TIRE SIZEMINI COOPER RECOMMENDED TIRE SIZEMINI COOPER TIRE SIZE 2011MINI COOPER TIRES FOR SALE 2010 MCS. The following are the engine codes for all current MINI Cooper’s (Not Classics) First Generation MINIs 2002-2006 R50 Cooper = W10 (W10B16) 1.6 Non Supercharged 2ND GEN - R56 - COOPER - S - NEW KEY PROGRAMMING From all I've read, and it is not the be all end all on this, the 1st gen keys can be reprogrammed at home. Super simple DIY. This guy isn't the most exciting mechanic to watch but he get's the job done. I didn't use any of the products he used/showed. Drained old fluid into an oil pan, filled with a hand pump till it ran out the fill hole. I had 1ST GEN - R53 - COOPER - S - CHECK YOUR BELT TENSIONER DAMPER Finally replaced my worn bushless tensioner damper w/ same OEM. Man, what a world of difference, Not only was the chatter gone, it actually smoothened the engine. So significant that it feels brand new. My old 1 not only lost the rear bush, but also all of its resistance. BIGGER IS BETTER!!! A FAQ ON THE BOSCH 550CC INJECTORS FOR R53 UPDATE: Based on our research, there are two types of 440cc injectors being floated by the other guy and here is the info: The 1st Generation of 440cc are these (up until 2010): 1ST GEN - R53 - COOPER - S - SWAP OUT FRONT SEATS ONLY. This is the info I used for most of the my swap. R56 Seats into my 04 R53: Installed and pics! - North American Motoring The seat belts aren't compatible between 1st and 2nd gen so you'll need to use your old latch on the new seats. 1ST GEN - R53 - COOPER - S - WHEEL SPEED SENSORS (AKA Fair question.
