James Tod writes that the tribes here alluded to are the Haihaya or Aswa, the Takshak, and the Jat or Getae; the similitude of whose theogony, names in their early genealogies, and many other points, with the Chinese, Tatar, Mogul, Hindu, and Scythic races, would appear to warrant the assertion of one common origin.. Professor B. S. Dhillon states that the Jats are mainly of Indo-Scythian DHILLON - JATLAND WIKI B S Dahiya writes: Dhillon is an important clan of ancient history. The fact that they are also found in the European population (Dillon) shows that they must have been older than the Christian era. According to historian Qanungo, the city of Delhi is named after them and it was later on taken by the Chauhans.According to Farishta after the death of Kidar, Jaichand took the throne of KannaujJATS - JATLAND WIKI
The Jat people are considered as the merged descendants of Indo-Aryans, Indo-Scythian tribes of the region, merging to form the Jat people. An uninformed view is that Jat is a farmer-caste (caste = social group) but Jat is really a race (race = ethnic group). Only a subset of the over 900 million farmers in south Asia are Jats. CHAHAL - JATLAND WIKI Bhim Singh Dahiya writes about this clan that a part of Khionites/white Hunas, the Chahlas (Chols of European historians) in the fourth century AD, were settled on the east of Caspian sea. This was the period when Jauvlas/Johls were occupying Zabulistan in Ghazni area. In 438-39 AD the Iranian Emperor Yazdegirel II led an expedition against the Chahls to the north of Gurgan. BHALAUT - JATLAND WIKI The village Bhalaut is the ancestral village of late Rai Bahadur Lal Chand Phogat who was one of the foremost political personalities of the 1st half of 20th century, in erstwhile Punjab. He was a contemporary of Sir Chhotu Ram and a leading social reformer. Married into a Sikh Jat family of Punjab, he died in the 1960s and wassurvived by 3
NAGAVANSH - JATLAND WIKI The Indus Valley Civilization which is the most ancient civilization of India, was spread up in North-West: Harappa, Mohenjodaro, Chanhudaro and Lothal were its most important towns. The founders of Indus valley civilization were Mediterraneans or Dravidians and Australoids, where as, round headed Alpines, appeared, in mature age of this culture. In excavation of these towns, in addition to RAI SIKH - JATLAND WIKI Historically, the Rai Sikh was a community associated with rope making and the manufacture of a particular type of net used for snaring wild boar. Their settlements were found mainly along river banks, where the community harvested reed. However, with the partition of India, the Rai Sikh as refugees from Pakistan, were allocated lands of the GARHWAL - JATLAND WIKI Chhelu Ram (छेलूराम) (Garhwal) (10 May 1905 – 20 April 1943) was a Jat hero, recipient of prestigious Victoria Cross gallantry award. Chaudhariyo
ki Haveli, Ghadwal (Nurankheda, Haryana) Ram Swarup Joon writes about SANGWAN - SANGA : They also belong to Jakhar dynasty. A King of the Sangwan gotra ruled in the Sarsujungles of Mewar
. According to Amin Chand, the author of
'Jat Varna Mimansa ', their early rulers wereBrahmadutt Somaud
, Agni
Kumar , Marichi
, Surya and Shalbhan. They have about
40 villages in Dadri and they are also found in Amritsar , Ferozepur and Patiala . In the Jhelum and Gujrat regions they are called Sanga . ------------------------- Ram Sarup Joon quotes Alberuni , the eminent historian, who writes that Chittor was governed by Jatrana (Jat) Kings and its old name was 'JATOR ', where 'Mansarovar ' exists in the memory of King ManinderJatrana
. According to the writings of Pandit Ami Chand , 14 Sangwan (Jat) Kings again governed Chittor and their capital was in SarsoJungle.
------------------------- Thakur Deshraj writes that The Leeri (लीड़ी) village founded by Lahari Raja in Peesangan tahsil in Ajmer district in Rajasthan was the capital of rulers of Sangwan clan. Thakur Deshraj writes that the Sangwan Jatsruled at Sarsu in
Jangladesh region of Rajasthan in 8th to 10th century. Thakur Deshraj writes thatThe Lahari Raja came to Ajmer area after long fight with Rajputs in Marwar area. Their title changed to Rana in Ajmer. There is one town "Lahar" in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh . Surname Rana and Lahari are found in this part of Madhya Pradesh . The kingdom name was Lahadi in the name of Raja Lahari . The present name is village Lihdi near Ajmer . Sangwan Jats ruled here for 9 generations. Last king of this clan in Ajmer area was Sangram Singh or Sangu . He left the land Ajmer-Merwara . Dada Sangu came to Dadri area in 1540-45 AD during rule of Shersah Suri . ------------------------- H.A. Rose writes that JAKHAR (जाखड़) is a tribe of Deswali Jats, claiming (Chauhanor Udhi
) descent. Jaku
, their eponym,
migrated from Bikaner to Jhajjar in Rohtak . A Raja of Dwarka had a bow which Jaku failed to bend, in spite of the promised reward. In shame he left his native land and settled in Bikaner . The legend clearly points to the loss of military status by the Jakhars . Of the same stock are the Sangwan, Piru , and KadianJats .
VILLAGES FOUNDED BY SANGWAN CLAN * The Leeri (लीड़ी) village founded by Lahari Raja in Peesangan tahsil in Ajmer district in Rajasthan was the capital of rulers of Sangwan clan. * Sangwanon Ki Dhani (सांगवानों की ढ़ाणी) - village in district Nagaur in Rajasthan . * Dhani Sangwan (ढाणी सांगवान) - Village in Rajgarh tahsil of Churu district in Rajasthan .
