Enlisting the help of Professor Tim Eden, Dr Raul Ribeiro, Gordon Morrison, and a team of like-minded parents from around the world. Together they set about bringing his vision to life. World Child Cancer registered as a UK charity on May 17th 2007. A year later, Geoff also lost his life to cancer. It was a devastating blow, but hislegacy
ADVOCACY - WORLD CHILD CANCER Setting the goal that 60% of all children should survive cancer by 2030 is crucial to focusing attention on this neglected issue and is having an impact. We are very active in several WHO pilot countries demonstrating what can be achieved. Meeting this ambitious goal would save an extra million lives buy 2030. We do this by: Building publicand
PATRONS - WORLD CHILD CANCER Patron. Gill Thaxter. Gill became patron of World Child Cancer in 2008. Along with her husband, Geoff, she saw the immense need for improvement in care for children with cancer in developing countries after visiting Bangladesh. It was that visit which inspired Geoff to found World Child Cancer. VOLUNTEERING WITH WORLD CHILD CANCER “When the opportunity arose to work with World Child Cancer as a volunteer, I was very keen to be involved and to use my experience to teach and train doctors and nurses in Ghana. OUR TEAM - WORLD CHILD CANCER Finance Officer Alind Bamarni. Alind is the Finance Officer of World Child Cancer, joining the charity in September 2019. He is responsible for recording all income and expenditure into the charity’s accounting software system and reporting this to the directors and other stakeholders of the charity. Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, supported by World Child Cancer, has provided Matilda and the other teachers with ongoing specialised training on how to teach and support children at the hospital. PARTNER ORGANISATION SPMC is at the centre of the Mindanao Paediatric Cancer Care Network (MPCCN), the development of which Iis led by Dr Mae Dolendo, the medical lead of the World Child Cancer funded programme in the country. In 2009 SPMC had 10 beds dedicated to children with cancer and by 2010 were able to increase this number to 25 beds.OUR AMBASSADORS
Ambassador Geeta Nanda OBE. Geeta is Chief Executive of Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing and a proud Ambassador of World Child Cancer. Over the last few years, Geeta has raised over £300,000 with fellow Ambassador Mark Everard engaging new supporters from across the housing sector and hosting multiple events such as a Gala Dinner and their very successful annual Christmas Quiz. Alind is the Finance Officer of World Child Cancer, joining the charity in September 2019. On the 15th February 2021, our partners around the world celebrated the 20th International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD). In 2009 SPMC had 10 beds dedicated to children with cancer and by 2010 were able to increase this number to 25 beds. THE HAMPTON HALF 2021 The Hampton Half 2021. The Hampton Half will be taking place on the 19th September 2021. Run around the historic Hampton Court Palace, in South West London. The palace is one of only two remaining houses that were lived in by Henry VIII. The route is flat and picturesque.MORLEY YOUNG

MEDICAL VOLUNTEER WITH WORLD CHILD CANCER World Child Cancer is currently hosting an appeal to give children with cancer the Gift of Growing Up. All children, no matter where they are born, deserve equal access to the best possible treatment and care which is why Shanice chose to volunteer with World Child Cancer and THE HAMPTON HALF 2021 The Hampton Half 2021. The Hampton Half will be taking place on the 19th September 2021. Run around the historic Hampton Court Palace, in South West London. The palace is one of only two remaining houses that were lived in by Henry VIII. The route is flat and picturesque. GORDON MORRISON BEM BSC Gordon's charity work has spanned 20 years involving the creation of CLIC Sargent through a merger of two charities creating the largest childhood cancer support charity and more recently the development of a new charity, World Child Cancer, which continues to expand and grow.
