The Sheffield Living Highways project was a collaborative project involving Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, the University of Sheffield, Sheffield City Council and Amey 2015-2019. Its aim was to trial whether changes to the management of the city’s grass vergescan

Thank you. Centenary Riverside is a 4.5 hectare wetland reserve nestled alongside the River Don. The site consists of a beautiful wildflower meadow bank brimming with butterflies and insects, and a series of ponds and wetlands that attract a huge variety of birds, mammals and insects. Kilnhurst Ings is a post-industrial washland on the River Don that we’ve transformed into a fantastic new wetland habitat to be enjoyed by both wildlife and people. Carr House Meadows is patchwork of flower-rich meadows, perched above the Ewden Valley. At Carr House Meadows, the old English style meadows have been maintained and create a lovely setting.
