CAPE PALLISER
Cape Palliser is an hour from Martinborough. This scenic Wairarapa coastline includes the Putangirua Pinnacles, Ngawi and the fantastic fur seal colony. The Lighthouse is at the end of this soutrhern scenic road - 253 steps to the top.WAIRARAPA CYCLING
Wairarapa Cycling. The Wairarapa has quiet country roads, town parks and bike trails for keen cyclists of all ages. A must-do is the spectacular Remutaka Cycle Trail. It's a 'Great Ride' on Nga Haerenga, the New Zealand Cycle Trail - which means it's one of the country's best! Our favourite day ride is the Remutaka Rail Trail - so close to GLAMPING IN THE WAIRARAPA Glamping in the Wairarapa. Glamping, or ‘glam camping’ is the ultimate outdoor experience and glamping in the Wairarapa is the ideal way to get back to nature without having to rough it! Located just 5 minutes' drive from central Masterton, near a limestone hill that is perfect for scenic walks with great views from the top. Te Pamu's tent BRANCEPETH - TOURISM INFORMATION FROM DESTINATION WAIRARAPA Brancepeth. Take a tour of Brancepeth, one of Wairarapa's grandest and most treasured historic sites. This colonial homestead and gardens east of Masterton is still owned by the Beetham family, who settled on the land in 1856. By 1900 Brancepeth was one of the largest sheep stations in New Zealand. At its height, it included an on-site library MARTINBOROUGH VINEYARDS Martinborough Vineyards. This opens in a new window. Martinborough has more than 20 cellar doors, each with their own style. MASTERTON & MARTINBOROUGH I-SITE VISITOR INFORMATION There are two i-SITE Visitor Centres in Masterton and Martinborough with knowledgable staff who will help make sure your time in the Wairarapa is nothing short of fantastic! Their help is free and they can make your bookings for you. REMUTAKA HILL ROAD CLOSURES Remutaka Hill Road Closures. Slip prevention work is planned for the Remutaka Hill over 10 nights on 16-20 May and 23-27 May between 9pm-4am, with stop and go at other times. Week 1: Sunday night 16 May to Friday afternoon 21 May from 9pm - 4am with stop/go traffic control at all other times. Week 2: Sunday night 23 May to Friday afternoon 28 REMUTAKA CYCLE TRAIL ACCOMMODATION Remutaka Cycle Trail Accommodation. There is a variety of accommodation on the trail.
