The structure of Workbays consists of slim aluminium profiles and organically shaped wall elements made of pressed polyester fleece. The use of this light and robust material is a groundbreaking innovation in the furniture sector. The robust members of the Cork Family stand firmly, making them suited for use as side tables or stools. They benefit from the advantageous natural properties of cork: comparatively lightweight and extremely durable, they also have a velvety surface that is pleasant to touch. VITRA | EAST RIVER CHAIR Products designed by Hella Jongerius demonstrate a unique blend of industry and craft, high and low-tech, traditional and modern – characteristics which are also evident in the East River Chair: with its distinctive form and casual combination of such diverse materials as wood, metal, leather and fabric, this small armchair clearly bears the Dutch designer's signature. Rookie is a small, agile and – by office standards – unconventionally simple chair. It provides a high level of immediate comfort with a minimal number of adjustments. 'Rookie is all about flexibility and change. Its design aesthetic symbolises that magic moment when something new is beginning, but everything is still up in the air. Equally suited as a single desk chair for students or in VITRA | EAMES ELEPHANT One prototype, which was given to Charles's 14-year-old daughter Lucia Eames, was loaned to the Museum of Modern Art in New York for a 1946 exhibition. It is still in the possession of the Eames family today. After a limited edition in 2007, Vitra has now added a plywood version of the legendary Eames Elephant to its standard portfolio.
