CICADAS TO EMERGE IN THE BILLIONS IN LOUDOUN & ACROSS Cicadas (Insecta: Hemiptera: Cicadidae) will be emerging in Loudoun County, and 15 other states, early May in a 17-year periodical phenomenon called "Brood X", also known as "The Great Eastern Brood." It is estimated that we will see and hear about 1.5 million cicadas per acre in May and June. It is the biggest emergence on the planet! HISTORIC WATERFORD TRAIL RUN/WALK Join us Saturday, September 11, 2021 for the 5th Annual 5K/10K trail run and Fun Run through the scenic trails, vineyards, and streets of historic Waterford, Virginia. This will be an in-person event, adapting to a virtual race only if government restrictions limit public gatherings. The course follows paved/gravel roads & scenic trails through the Waterford National Historic Landmark and ADVENTURE DESTINATION: THINGS TO DO IN STERLING, VIRGINIA Things to do in Sterling Day at the Museum.
