For independent hikers, our written trail guides, interactive maps and downloadable GPS data will give you all the information you need to follow sections of the TCT without the need of a guide.. Currently there are multi-day routes open to the public in Upper Svaneti–Racha in Georgia, and in Dilijan National Park, the Gegham Mountains, and Vayots Dzor province in Armenia. The Transcaucasian Trail (TCT) will be a world-class, long-distance hiking trail more than 3,000km in length, following the Greater and Lesser Caucasus Mountains and connecting roughly two dozen national parks and protected areas in the region. Ale claims that he’s too old for the live updates of the trek ORGANIZATION AND LEADERSHIP Organization and Leadership. The Transcaucasian Trail Association, Inc. (TCTA) is a non-profit corporation registered in Washington, D.C. The TCTA currently supports two locally registered NGOs in the Caucasus, the Transcaucasian Trail NGO of Georgia and the Transcaucasian Trail Tourism Support NGO of Armenia. HIKING THE TRANSCAUCASIAN TRAIL IS ACTUALLY HELPING US We’ll go back in the spring to install signposts and blazes and complete the re-opening. The section of the Transcaucasian Trail that crosses the Geghama Mountains is a remote and challenging backcountry route, accessible only in the summer months and requiring the highest level of self-sufficiency of any section of the Transcaucasian Trail in Armenia. By bus from Yerevan: Minibuses (mashrutkas) depart from the Northern Bus Station (hyusisayin avtokayaran) for Dilijan every hour between 10am and 4pm daily, costing 1000 AMD.The bus station itself can be reached by the 259 bus from the city center, or by private taxi.
