THE PAINTED APRON
Take-out Tuesday, Loaded Ham & Asparagus Alfredo Pie. This Ham & Asparagus Pie is loaded with goodies! It is full of ham, bacon, asparagus, corn, and green onions, tossed with Alfredo sauce and cheeses and bound together with an egg milk mixture It’s another version of What’s in the Refrigerator Quiche Leftover this and alittle bit of that
TABLESCAPES, ROSES & DRAGONFLIES I spent 10 wonderful days on the coast, boating and swimming, dining Al Fresco with friends There was even a little planting The drive back to the "city" was so beautiful, it was like watching Spring unfold before my very eyes~ Every mile was full of trees starting to bloom and grass turning green I TABLESCAPES, ABUZZ WITH WORLD BEE DAY Happy World Bee Day! Last week some of my tablescaping friends participated in a Bee-utiful Table Settings Blog Hop~ The hop was hosted by Debbee's Buzz The participants shared wonderful tables and information about the importance of bees You can visit the blog hop here I was so inspired I had to paint something with TABLESCAPES, PINK BLOOM PROFUSION I received a beautiful bouquet of white roses from HHjr and a bouquet of pink flowers from my son in law, NG I put them in a vase together and they were twice as pretty! I filled the tray with faux blooms and fringed pink napkins with such a pretty centerpiece, a tablescape wasbound
FEARLESS FRIDAY, BUSY BEES In honor of World Bee Day yesterday, I've been busy as a bee creating some bee things You do NOT have to be an artist to paint these simple bees! A few dots, a few stripes and Voilà, Bees! I had this metal pitcher in the pantry for watering plants and decided it could use THROWBACK THURSDAY, WREATH RE-DO I made a Crazy Daisy Wreath for May many moons ago, inspired by the creations of Patience Brewster It was full of daisies with faces a colorful owl, a bicycle, and an outdoor swing After a few Mays outside, the daisy ladies began to look a little tired and dirty andthe owl migrated to
TAKE-OUT TUESDAY, MARINARA RICOTTA MEATBALL BUBBLE-UP Instructions. Combine the marinara sauce with the ricotta, Italian seasoning and 3 oz of Parmesan cheese. Spread in the bottom of a 8" x 8" casserole dish or deep dish pie pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Place meatballs into sauce leaving spaces between them. Cut biscuits into 1/4s and put into a bowl. FEARLESS FRIDAY, SUMMER COTTAGE & FREE PRINTABLE To finish I added a few more details with ink. “Summer Cottage” 7″ x 10″ watercolor and ink on mixed media paper. You can print out the drawing and color it with pencils, marker or watercolor. Print it on card stock for colored pencils or marker. Print it on mixed media paper if you want to use watercolor. PARTY PANACHE, BACON PARMESAN BITES Then put a piece of bacon . the length of the cracker . on top of the cheese. The bacon I used was wider than the cracker . so I folded it over itself for a double bacon layer PARTY PANACHE, SPRING CHARCUTERIE SPREAD The bleu cheese dip is inside a hollowed cabbage, surrounded by roasted broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, snow peas and baby carrots. A stemmed glass holds bunny toothpicks for spearing the vegetables. An Easter egg bowl, left, holds a pan of warm ham rolls with Mustard Butter. A few dots, a few stripes and Voilà, Bees! I had this metal pitcher in the pantry for watering plants and decided it could use TABLESCAPES, PINK BLOOM PROFUSION I received a beautiful bouquet of white roses from HHjr and a bouquet of pink flowers from my son in law, NG I put them in a vase together and they were twice as pretty! I filled the tray with faux blooms and fringed pink napkins with such a pretty centerpiece, a tablescape wasbound
THROWBACK THURSDAY, WREATH RE-DO Grapevine wreaths are great because it’s so easy to stick things in. and secure them in the vines. I tucked the stems around the wreath in an asymmetrical fashion. and added a length of burlap ribbon tied in a simple knot. I topped the burlap ribbon with a length of ruffled pink ribbon. and added the swing with floral wire. TAKE-OUT TUESDAY, MARINARA RICOTTA MEATBALL BUBBLE-UP Instructions. Combine the marinara sauce with the ricotta, Italian seasoning and 3 oz of Parmesan cheese. Spread in the bottom of a 8" x 8" casserole dish or deep dish pie pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Place meatballs into sauce leaving spaces between them. FEARLESS FRIDAY, ODE TO THE STRAWBERRY Happy Fearless Friday! This month, in the recipe department of the Painted Apron, we are celebrating the beginning of strawberry season in the South. Definitely make the Fresh Strawberry Dressing! Since we are winding up April, I had to have a little strawberry fun in my sketchbook. This is sort of a half and half, drawing/painting. PARTY PANACHE, SOUTHERN SAUSAGE & CORNBREAD BALLS Preheat oven to 350, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine sausage with cornbread mix and other ingredients in a mixing bowl. Shape into 1 inch balls, rolling dough in your palm. Place balls on baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Serve warm or at roomtemperature.
