Horse support is smart. The horses take the bulk of the weight, and climbers are free to approach the peak with light packs, knowing that their gear is safely being transported to base camp. Dale Remsberg is an IFMGA Mountain Guides based in Lafayette, CO. Dale currently serves as the technical director of the American Mountain Guides Association, which includes instructing and examining young guides.
