COMMAND CENTER: COST BREAKDOWN I've had some questions about the pricing of certain things on my command center so I thought I'd just do a cost breakdown for everyone. I'll start with the letter pockets and magnetic board. STORAGE SOLUTIONS FOR SMALL BATHROOMS Another way to add a little extra storage is to fill up some wall or floor space with baskets. Try to find a niche in the wall somwhere, and don't just think in the shower. Broaden your view. You could put a niche in any empty wall. Just be sure to know what's in the wall first, i.e. pipes or electricity. BIB | THE CALDWELL PROJECT April 2, 2013. My little one is notorious for ripping off whatever bib I put on her. Which, of course, results in dirty clothes that can be rather hard to clean. In my efforts to keep her clothes covered I bought the nice big plastic-y kind of bibs. Without fail they alwaysgot ripped off.

SHADES OF WHITE...PAINT Since our walls and our trim are all going to be the same color I opted for the eggshell sheen. Normally I would go a sheen glossier for the trim, but I don't want the whole room to be glossy. Here are some examples of what each paint color looks like in a room. Benjamin Moore White Dove. Benjamin Moore Atrium White. Benjamin Moore Cloud White. GUEST BATH REFINISH REMIX! The color of this finish compared to the first is MUCH whiter. The first is almost almond next to this white. If you can't remember back to what this room looked like before, check it out here. We got to start with a blank palette and the design began with a great piece of art and a black crib. At first I toyed with the idea of doing this wallpaper, but then decided after seeing this herringbone accent wall, I wanted to do some version of that. With your hem ironed, tuck the blackout liner under the hem leaving equal amounts of fabric on the sides and pin all across the top. Our command center has so far been one of the most useful places in our home, however, we were having a problem. This year our daughter started preschool and began bringing home papers to put on themagnetic board.
FAMILY ROOM REVEAL!! It's done, it's done! The family room is finally finished being decorated (for now at least, lol). There may be a few things that will change in the future but for now I love it just the way it is. THE CALDWELL PROJECT I just hate it when things don't go my way, lol. So the other day I painted my chairs. I wan't entirely sure about the color but hoped itwould work.

There may be a few things that will change in the future but for now I love it just the way it is. THE CALDWELL PROJECT I just hate it when things don't go my way, lol. So the other day I painted my chairs. I wan't entirely sure about the color but hoped itwould work.

IT'S BEEN AGES!! LET'S CATCH UPDecember 7, 2015
It's been over a year since I sat down and actually put my brain to work writing a post! I'm not sure I even know how to blog anymore, buthere goes.
Since we last met not a whole lot has gone on with our home remodel. We decided that taking a break and paying off our bills would be in our best interest and so, unfortunately, all remodel work was put to a standstill (of course we decided that while the master bath was demolished!). Now that we are feeling comfortable with where we're at, we are back in full swing! Here's a recap of where we left off.Continue reading »
CUSTOMIZABLE, PRINTABLE NURSERY ARTAugust 6, 2014
Life is slowly getting back to normal after baby Stella's arrival, and with normalcy
comes a new post!
I created a print for my nursery and made it several ways before I finally came up with a version I loved. I did a guest post on Over The Big Moon showing a few of the different ways you could modify this print (here is a peek at what the print looks like in our nursery).Continue reading »
THE GOLDEN HERRINGBONE WALLJune 17, 2014
I knew from the get go in the nursery I wanted some kind of accent wall. At first I toyed with the idea of doing this wallpaper, but
then decided after seeing this herringbone accent wall,
I wanted to do some version of that.Continue reading »
A BREAK ON THE NURSERY MEANS WORK IN THE YARDJune 10, 2014
After my last update on the nursery about the finished fauxdenzaI took a
two week break from decorating and we decided to put some focus on our front yard instead. The main reason behind this project was the fact that every time I drove up to our house I would cringe at how awful it looked. Basically, it looked abandoned. For real... overgrown trees and weedy flower beds don't make for the best curb appeal.Continue reading »
A FINISHED FAUXDENZA!May 15, 2014
I'm in love with this fauxdenza. The final touches were a labor of love and totally worth it. Putting the final finish on the wood that wraps around the fauxdenza gave me quite a bit a grief. I wanted it to be just right, which resulted in a lot of trial and error, but in the end we got it figuredout.
The finish coat I used on the wood was a semi-gloss polycrylic. I wanted the wood to remain natural in color and polycrylic is a crystal clear finish that leaves no color tint behind.Continue reading »
