Let’s get real was developed by the Ministry of Health in 2008 and refreshed by Te Pou following sector consultation in 2018. MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID Ko Awatea, in partnership with Counties Manukau, was the original license holder of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). Te Pou became the new host of MHFA Aotearoa New Zealand in July 2020. As the dedicated host, Te Pou will look at the adaptation and implementation of the MHFA programme within the cultural context of New Zealand.SUPERVISION
Supervision is an important component of professional practice development that helps to ensure ethical, quality service provision to service users and tangata whai ora who access health services. Competencies have been created to help shape the development of the peer and service user workforce in mental health and addiction services.This resource can be used to inform all aspects of an organisation including training, recruitment, performance management, self-assessment, service specifications, auditing and more. 5-STEP METHOD FACTSHEET 5-Step Method factsheet. The 5-Step Method is an evidence-based and trauma-informed approach that supports whānau members of people experiencing addiction issues to respond and cope more effectively.
