Film and audio. The National Museum of Science and Technology's collections contain 400 films, 800 audio tapes and 700 video cassettes. The oldest films date from the early 1920s. The archives and library are open for pre-booked visits.DIGITAL NOW
Digital now is an arena for digital artworks that stretch the boundaries of technology. The installations are sometimes displayed at various locations inside the Museum and are regularly replaced and updated with works by Swedish and international guest artists.SWEDISH INVENTORS
The “Founder of the Swedish mechanical industry” and Swedish steamboat pioneer Samuel Owen was born in Norton-in-Hales in Shropshire, England, in 1774. THE MATHEMATICAL GARDEN On Wednesdays we are open until 8 pm with free entrance from 5 pm. The Mathematical Garden provides a fun experience where you can discover that mathematics is to be found everywhere – in nature, art, music and technology – in the form of patterns, symmetry, golden ratios, numerical sequences and fractals. Getting here. The National Museum of Science and Technology is beautifully situated on the northern part of Djurgården next to Gärdet, not far from Kaknästornet. The easiest way to get here is by public transport. There is also parking available.FILM AND AUDIO

MEGAMIND - TEKNISKA MUSEET Paint with your eyes, make virtual sculptures or create music using the power of thought – and other things you didn’t think were possible. MegaMind has close to 50 stations for you to explore. At each of one of these, there are digital signs to tell you what is happening at the station. Hyper Human combines a historical perspective with an analysis of the present and thoughts on the future. It features a musculature model from the 1700s, prosthetic eyes from the 1800s, intelligent supercomputers from the 1980s, and visions of the future drawn from both popular culture and science. Visitors to the exhibition will bechallenged

John Ericsson – The propeller. The pioneer of the propeller and the armoured ship was a national hero in the US, but he was born in Värmland, Sweden. His first work experience was on the construction of the Göta Canal. John Ericsson was born in 1803 in the mining village of Långban in Värmland, Sweden. He showed a talent fortechnology

JOHAN PETTER JOHANSSON Johan Petter Johansson – Adjustable pipe wrench. During his long life, Johan Petter Johansson held no less than 110 patents. Two of the inventions, the pipe wrench and the adjustable spanner, brought him world fame, and are still sold all over the world today. Johan Petter was born in 1853 in Vårgårda, Västergötland, in a crofter’sfamily.
