The awesome structure, the monument of love that Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan gave to the world, stands as a testimony of his intense love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is a romance celebrated in marble and glorified with precious and HISTORY OF THE TAJ MAHAL By the late 19th century, parts of the buildings had fallen badly into disrepair. During the time of the Indian rebellion of 1857, the Taj Mahal was defaced by British soldiers and government officials, who chiseled out precious stones and lapis lazuli from its walls.ARCHITECTURE

Within the Fort there are a number of exquisite buildings, including Moti Masjid, Diwaan-e-Aam, Diwaan-e-Khaas and Musamman Burj, where Emperor Shah Jahan was kept during his imprisonment. Jahangir’s Palace, Khaas Mahal and Sheesh Mahal are the other important monuments inside theFort.
SOAMI BAGH - TAJ MAHAL Soamiji maharaj, in January 1861, promulgated the Radhasoami faith on Basant Panchmi Day, on the special request of his beloved disciple, Rai Bahadur Saligram (Second Sant sat Guru of Radhasoami Faith).
