Return of Lili-Hawk. Today Lilihawk greeted me at the cottage door with her screams of come-come. It is good to see her returning again from her migration to the valley here by Sugar Mountain. The ratio of these numbers on a finisher pig in good condition (not skinny, not fat) is a fair indicator of Lard vs Bacon breeds. If L>=G then it is probably a bacon / meat breed. You still need to chill and age the carcasses, cut the meat, make sausage, brine and smoke plus any other value added processes. Mobile Costs: $150,000 Red Meat Mobile Slaughter Unit. $50,000 Truck to Tow MobileSlaughter Unit.

WHEN I WAS FIVE…

_Grippy Toes_
When I was five years old my mother took me to see the doctor for an annual checkup. The doctor sat me up on the examining table, had me put my hands palms down on my knees and told me to, “_Wiggle yourtoes._”
I thought this was a bit odd as I had my shoes on and I didn’t think he could see my toes but I played along, wiggling my toes for him. Again he said, “_Wiggle your toes._” I replied back, “_I did._” as I wiggled them again. I wondered what sort of nonsense this was but I was still playing along with hissilly game.
“_No, you didn’t._” He said to me. Giving him a puzzled look I asked, “_Why do you think I didn’twiggle my toes?_”
He then told me, “_When you wiggle your toes your fingers willmove._”
_Of all the nonsense,_ I thought to myself. But to him I said, “_No, that is not true. I wiggled my toes._” I wiggled them again for emphasis. My fingers continued to stay still. I don’t like incorrectness and he was being strange. He said, “_Your fingers will move when you wiggle your toes. It’sa reflex._”
_Okaayyy…_ I thought to myself. _I’ll play your game._ So I wiggled my fingers for him. As you may be guessing by now, I did not bother wiggling my toes that time. The doctor was happy and we moved on. _Such silly people…_ _Outdoors: 65°F/56°F Sun & Rain Tiny Cottage: 64°F/62°F_ Daily Spark: _Intelligence is the capacity to pay attention to the details, remember and process. COPYRIGHT
ARTICLES AND IMAGES: As is the default once anything is created all articles, photos and drawings are copyrighted. If you would like to use any of them, please ask me by email. I will generally say sure! However do not use my photos without my explicit written permission as that is a copyright violation. For true non-commercial use I generally just ask for a link. If you want to use them commercially (e.g., brochure, web site, ad campaign, book, etc.) I will require appropriate payment. I ask that you don't steal and you do give fair credit to the creator. If you do use my works without my permission then I may sue you for usage, damages and attorney's fees and you will have nightmares of being chased down a steep mountain by wolves and 1,000 lb boars gnashing their huge razor sharp tusks in anticipation of catching you. Avoid bad dreams - Don't steal, just ask and berespectful.

You retain copyright to your works but you implicitly give permission for me, the recipient, to publish the content. If you don't like that then don't leave comments. The same holds true for emails you might send with questions or comments. This is how the system work. If you later want your name removed from the comment I'll probably accommodate you but I am not likely to deleteold comments.

DISCLAIMER
Nothing here is a recommendation or advice. These are merely reports of what we've found useful. Use good sense and confirm everything with your own research and testing. Farming isn't a franchise of stamping out pink plastic pigs. You will need to adapt things to your own soils, climate, resources, management style and other factors. Don't use too sharp a pencil. There is no magic fix. Grow slowly. Void where prohibited. Walk on the grass. Watch out for turds.*
COLIPHON
This blog is powered by WordPress which I strongly recommend. I write my text on my Apple PowerBook G4. For photos I use a Casio Exilim EX-V8 compact digital camera as of 2008-05 (which I have repeatedly dropped on concrete, rock, ice, snow, dirt, mud and water). Photo management with GraphicConverter and Photoshop. Before that I used Fuji FinePix (which died, was replaced, died again...) early Casio, Nikon CoolPix 900, 950 & 990 (great models) digital cameras and previously a Canon A1 SLR (fantastic and rugged but heavy) film camera with good old Kodachrome ASA 25 (my fav) color slide film.*
PRIVACY POLICY
Okay. Let's be real. There is no privacy on the Internet. Cookies are collected and transmitted. Logs are accumulated. The reality is every time you visit a web site or use email you're broadcasting your IP address and other data about your web browser and computer as well possibly yourself. To make it more interesting the NSA is probably watching as may well be other agencies of various governments andcorporations.
Yes, if you're diligent and industrious you can use anonymouse and other tools to try and protect your privacy. However, unless you actively do that, and even then, don't expect privacy on the web. Remember that email is a postcard open to all who want to read it as it passes through their servers. That said, I am not making any conscious effort to use all that data for evil so take a deep breath and don't worry about it since there isn't a lot you can do about it. If you're under 13 realize that animal sex does get discussed on this site - we're a farm. If your parents haven't had that discussion about the facts of life with you yet I suggest you explain it to them. Wiki might help. Other than that this site is completely child and adult safe as far as I know.*
TYPOS & EDITS
If you find a typo or something that needs editing please email it to me with a sentence fragment to identify the offender and the URL (link) to the page. One of the wonderful things about the web is being able to fix mistakes.*
