Lucas joined SCU in February 2019 as part of the team that delivered the Street Child Cricket World Cup. He is now Project Managing the SCWC 2022 and SCCWC 2023, and looks after our Ambassador Relationships. Lucas is a keen footballer and cricketer, and loves nothing more than enjoying a sunny afternoon at the Oval watching hisbeloved Surrey.

The highest fundraisers won two tickets to the Street Child World Cup, and joined us in Brazil. They have since gone on to lead on many more fundraising challenges for Vitol. Their support for the Street Child World Cup remains a highlight for the Vitol team, and the partnership between SCU and Vitol is still ongoing. The UN General Comment on Children in Street Situations has been published by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, a year after children taking part in the Street Child Games took part in a session to share their experiences and thoughts at the highest level.. Their strong wish to have the opportunity to improve their own situations, which emerged from that CASE STUDY – DRIKA – STREET CHILD UNITED Favela Street was chosen to represent Brazil at the Street Child World Cup Rio 2014, and, with Drika as captain, the team went all the way to the final, where they beat the Philippines 1-0. Liya is a law student studying at the university of Sheffield. She participated in the 2014 SCWC and 2016 Games. Liya was also a Young Leader at the 2018 World Cup in Moscow. She’s undertaken work experience at Street Child United and spoke at the international summit on the protection of street children’s rights in Brazil. STREET ART FOR STREET CHILDREN The street-art for street children mural is a collaboration between Street Child United, the Village Underground – an arts venue and non-profit space for creativity and culture – and internationally renowned mural artist Joel Bergner. The mural aims to challenge the stigmas associated with children and youth living on the streetsacross the

In 2013-2014, the Vitol CASE STUDY – DRIKA – STREET CHILD UNITED Favela Street was chosen to represent Brazil at the Street Child World Cup Rio 2014, and, with Drika as captain, the team went all the way to the final, where they beat the Philippines 1-0. As a result of the Street Child World Cup, Street Child United built the Safe Space pitch and programme in Complexo da Penha, with the support of GM Chevrolet. We work with them in “partnership” throughout their participation. Each organisation completes our application and due diligence process.OUR YOUNG LEADERS
Liya is a law student studying at the university of Sheffield. She participated in the 2014 SCWC and 2016 Games. Liya was also a Young Leader at the 2018 World Cup in Moscow. She’s undertaken work experience at Street Child United and spoke at the international summit on the protection of street children’s rights in Brazil.
