INVASIVE SPECIES MANAGEMENT Invasive Plant Management Goals. In Stanley Park, there are 72 non-native, invasive plant species. The management of these species is a priority for SPES – with the goal of conserving and restoring the natural ecosystems, habitats and species present in the park. To realize this goal, SPES started its Ivy Busters program in 2004 in STANLEY PARK ECOLOGY SOCIETY INVASIVE PLANT MANAGEMENT PLAN 5 1.0 Introduction Invasive plants are non-native species that pose undesired or negative impacts on native biota and ecosystems, managed landscapes and/or human health. BIRDS OF A FEATHER: DUCK, DUCK, GOOSE? (ONLINE) Since time immemorial, Coast Salish people have walked this land and walked with it in a good way, harvesting foods and medicines and made good ceremony here. OUR MISSION
Stanley Park Ecology Society promotes awareness of and respect for the natural world through collaborative leadership in environmental education, research, and conservation in Stanley Park. _We gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony.
