San Luis Obispo County Parks has been managing the operations of Coastal Dunes RV Park and Campground since October 1, 2006 and is located along Highway 1 on the scenic Central Coast. The park is conveniently located next to the Grover Beach Amtrak Station, adjacent to the railroad tracks.TEMPLETON PARK

TEMPLETON PARK
Templeton Park. Templeton Park is a beautiful 3.5-acre park and is one of the most favored parks in the area. With the county’s busiest swimming pool, this park gets plenty of use. BIDDLE REGIONAL PARK Biddle Regional Park is located approximately 5 miles east of Arroyo Grande and was initially developed into its present shape as a regional park in the mid-70s. It is one of San Luis Obispo County’s regional parks, and is a popular venue for a variety of day-use recreational pursuits such as field sports, picnicking, and specialevents.
SHAMEL PARK
Shamel Park. Located right next to the beach, Shamel’s six-acre park is a wonderful place to recreate. Praised by locals for its beautiful landscaping and cleanliness, Shamel Park offers easy beach access, two group day-use areas, a gazebo, playing field, horseshoes, a children’s play area and a heated, ADA-compliant swimming pool. OCEANO MEMORIAL PARK Oceano Memorial Park. Oceano Park is centrally located in one of the most recreational-friendly areas in San Luis Obispo County. Each day, thousands of people visit the beaches and campgrounds of Pismo Beach and Oceano for camping, RVing, swimming, kayaking, boating and all sorts of motorsports, including ocean watercraft, ATVs, motorcycles and 4x4s at the Oceano Dunes. NIPOMO COMMUNITY PARK Nipomo Community Park. Nipomo Regional Park is one of the County’s most popular and prolific parks, averaging 27,000 visitors per month during the summer. SLO COUNTY ENTERS ORANGE TIER Effective May 10, 2021, the following changes in operations will takeplace:
* Group camping reservations will be available for groups of 50 orless.
* Day use reservations of group picnic sites will be available for groups of 50 or less. * We will resume accepting applications for events with the additional requirement that applicants must also submit a plan on how they will meet COVID-19 guidelines most appropriate for the type of event being requested. Other County Parks Facilities that are Closed and/or have AlteredSchedules
* Effective 03/09/21 the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. * Restaurant concessionaires have limited indoor seating but also allow for outdoor seating and take out.* Swimming Pools
* Indoor Facilities (except restrooms) Lopez Lake and Santa Margarita Lake has set vehicle limits. In response to difficulty maintaining physical distance at Lopez Lake and Santa Margarita Lake, County Parks has limited the number of vehicles allowed at each lake at any one time. Santa Margarita Lake is limited to 80 vehicles, 40 of which may be trailers with boats. Lopez Lake is limited to 320 vehicles, 50 of which may be trailers with boats. Any vehicles arriving after this capacity has been reached will be turnedaway.
As a reminder, effective November 16, 2020, California’s updated face covering mandate specifies people must wear face coverings when they are outside of the home unless they qualify for an exemption. The County is posting signs reminding residents to keep a distance of at least six feet from others at sports courts, dog parks, skate parks and other areas. These areas may be closed if physical distancing requirements are ignored.
