But decluttering clothes hasn’t always been easy for DECLUTTERING BEFORE MOVING: HOW TO PURGE BEFORE A BIG MOVE Make it a goal to move as few consumable items as possible by focusing on using up what you have and only buying what you truly need before moving. 4. Stop adding new stuff to your home. Along the same lines, another great way to have less stuff to move is by avoiding buying anything new before the move. 9 PRACTICAL DECLUTTERING TIPS FOR SENIORS IN YOUR Decluttering tips for seniors: #3 make practical decisions first. As you’re decluttering, and especially if you’re downsizing or moving, start by dealing with the practical decluttering decisions first. Practical decluttering decisions are often easier to make compared to the more emotional decluttering decisions for yoursentimental items.
HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR HOME: 10 HIGH IMPACT DECLUTTERING 2. Keep floors clear. As I mentioned, surface clutter on your floors can make your home look and feel cluttered and messy quickly too. But keeping your floors clutter-free can have a big impact on the look, feel and function of your home as well. My goal is to only have our furniture legs touching the floor. DECLUTTERING CLOTHES: 11 TIPS TO MAKE CLEARING OUT YOUR 2. Turn your hangers around. This is a well-known trick to use when decluttering clothes. And it’s well known for a good reason – it works! Most people wear the same small selection of their favourite clothes most of the time. It can be as simple as labelling the space with washi tape and a permanent marker. Or using tags, labels, label makers, etc. to label where each item or category of stuff belongs.
