OPTOMETRY RESIDENCY PROGRAMS 2021-22 Optometry Residency Applications. 2021-22 Residency Applications will be welcome prior to NBEO score release. Accepted residents must be eligible for a state optometric license by the program's start date. SCO's Residency Programs give graduate optometrists additional opportunities to expand their clinical knowledge and skills.MEET OUR FACULTY

LEADERSHIP | SOUTHERN COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY | MEMPHIS, TN Southern College of Optometry is governed by a Board of Trustees, with day-to-day responsibilities executed by the college's president and management team. Since SCO’s founding in 1932, the college has benefited from outstanding leadership that includes only seven presidents in our history. OPTOMETRY SCHOOL TUITION & FEES Southern College of Optometry accepts applications from all states and foreign countries. Limited positions are available for applicants from the following regional states participating in the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) contract program or other SCO AWARDS 46 SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE CLASS OF 2022 SCO recently awarded a record 46 scholarships to the Class of 2022. SCO’s application process operates within OptomCAS, a centralized service that begins accepting applications June 30. Because of our rolling admissions infrastructure, SCO encourages interested students to apply early. Applying to our optometry school requires numerous detailed steps in order to maintain structure and organization throughout the process. OFFICIAL ACADEMIC CALENDAR September 20-24. First Mid-term Examination Week. Sept. 30 – Oct. 2. Homecoming/Fall CE. October 25-29. Second Mid-term Examination Week.November 4-5.
OPTOMETRY SCHOOL CURRICULUM Fourth Professional Year. Important: Fourth-year students are required to enroll in at least two ten-week externships in lieu of two of the semester schedules listed. Externships (OPT 404, 414 and 424) are each worth 14 quarter hours of credit. CONTINUING EDUCATION IN OPTOMETRY Online CE Course Library. SCO’s Continuing Education Library offers an array of opportunities to learn and grow in the optometry field. Browse the courses and find one that best suits your taste. 98.5% / 92%. 2021. 87% / 80%. 95% / 89%. NBEO provides ultimate passage rates for graduates as of September 30. To meet graduation requirements, SCO students must pass Parts I and II.
