Meet a Tyrannosaurus rex, the formidably armored Stegosaurus, high-crested Parasaurolophus, and Triceratops and Euoplocephalus mamas with their young. These hand-crafted moving animatronics spark the imaginations of dinosaur-lovers of all ages. Prehistoric Forest is included with Museum admission. Members are always free.EXHIBITIONS

The Museum’s Doris Faye Palmer Observatory opened on August 1, 1968. In 2013, a 14-foot 6-inch, 2,250-pound re-purposed Ash-Dome was donated to replace the Observatory roof. That same year, Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network (LCOGTN) donated a 20-inch RCOS Ritchey-Chrétien Telescope and PlaneWave mounting system. TheAsh-Dome

The exhibit features a dazzling variety of butterflies, from local favorites to exotic tropical varieties. Venesa Faciane. Originally, from Fairbanks, Alaska, Venesa Faciane has called Santa Barbara home since 2000. A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, she has for the past several years volunteered and worked with numerous area local nonprofits, including the Boys & Girls Club and Food from the Heart and was a founding member of Mission City Roller Derby, a 501(c)3. Museum indoor & outdoor exhibits are open to a limited number of guests who reserve online in advance. The Museum is open Wed–Sun, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM.
