CUMMINS QSC 8.3 IMPELLER DILEMMA Or you can just grab the thing with pliers and pull. sometimes you get lucky and the previous installer used grease on the splines. Highly recommend once it’s out before you reinstall you grease the splines and use some sort of water soluble lubricant on the new impeller vanes – dish soap, WD-40, KY it all works and makes the job that much easier getting the new one in and seated ALTERNATOR ISSUES WITH CUMMINS 6BTA Make sure those connections are clean, solid, and tight. Then sometimes there a sense or excitation wire that tells the alternator how much voltage to produce. Double check all wires for clean, solid, and tight and post up how your system is wired along with some good pictures of the engine as a whole from all sides.
