VEGETABLE OILS CAUSE INSULIN RESISTANCE The study took place in India, where there’s a high consumption of seed oils in cooking – just like there is here in the U.S.The olive oil group lost weight, and compared to canola oil, decreased insulin resistance and fasting blood sugar, and increased HDL. The canola oil group improved in some measures, but not as much as the olive oilgroup.
BLOOD DONORS LIVE LONGER Blood donors start and end up with varying ferritin levels. But they didn’t have that data. Probably they would find that a donor who consistently had a 50 ng/ml ferritin would be less likely to die than one who only dropped to 80. A previous study, unadjusted for the healthy donor effect, found that donors had an 88% lower risk of heartattack.
