Chapters use three primary pathways to further that goal: visibility and advocacy, education, and community support. Chapters meet monthly and are centered around TRP’s core 2021 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COHORT The cohort will be all-virtual, and participants will need to be available for four daylong online gatherings throughout that period: March 27, April 24, May 22, and June 26 (all Saturdays). Applications are due on January 5, 2021. Selection decisions will be made by theend of January.

Chapters use three primary pathways to further that goal: visibility and advocacy, education, and community support. Chapters meet monthly and are centered around TRP’s core 2021 RECONCILE AND REFORM CONFERENCE We weren’t able to gather in person last year, but we are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to hold our in-person conference this October 28-30 in Phoenix, Arizona. fully affirms LGBTQ people. All of our work is grounded in our three core values: our love for God, our love for the Bible, and our lovefor the church.
2021 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COHORT The cohort will be all-virtual, and participants will need to be available for four daylong online gatherings throughout that period: March 27, April 24, May 22, and June 26 (all Saturdays). Applications are due on January 5, 2021. Selection decisions will be made by theend of January.

Pastors in Process is a daylong, private gathering designed to support, equip, and connect pastors of non-affirming churches who want to lead their congregations to become more inclusive and affirming of LGBTQ Christians. Participants will hear from pastors who have led their churches to become affirming, learn about the complex dynamics THE CHRISTIAN TRADITION DOESN’T ADDRESS SEXUAL ORIENTATION The Christian tradition doesn’t address sexual orientation. For the first 1,600 years of the church, nearly all Christians believed that the earth stood still at the center of the universe. But the invention of the telescope led Christians to reconsider their interpretation of the Bible. THE PROHIBITIONS IN LEVITICUS DON’T APPLY TO CHRISTIANS As Hebrew scholar Saul Olyan and rabbinic scholar Daniel Boyarin have argued, Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 specifically prohibit male same-sex anal intercourse—not all same-sex acts. That act was seen as uniquely degrading to men, as it placed them in the socially inferior, “female” role. As a Bible-based, Christian organization, The Reformation Project's mission is to advance LGBTQ inclusion in the church. Our love for the church includes a love for fellow Christians who disagree with us theologically or are still seeking to discern their views about LGBTQ inclusion. 2021 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COHORT The cohort’s 12-week study program is focused on the theological debate about the Bible and LGBTQ inclusion. It is designed similarly to a college course, and participants will read and respond to both affirming and non-affirming writings in order to develop a well-rounded understanding of this theological conversation.
