A SIMPLE WAY TO SPEAK TO JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES A Simple Way to Speak to Jehovah’s Witnesses. Matt Bedzyk. April 15, 2021. For the most part, Christians know that Jehovah’s Witnesses (JWs) are a cult and have some strange beliefs. SIX BENEFITS OF STUDYING CHURCH HISTORY The following six reasons help demonstrate the value of learning from and teaching history. Knowing history helps us: 1. Appreciate the Sovereignty of God. If you were to spend just one hour reading an accurate overview of church history, you might wonder how UNION WITH CHRIST IS EVERYTHING The wonderful truth about Christians' union with Christ, and all that it means, is at the heart of Christianity spirituality. We can probe it in reverent exegesis of the Greek New Testament and we can embrace it with the childlike faith of 'receiving Jesus into your heart.'. PART For Martin Luther, the two kingdoms doctrine was necessary in order to refute the longstanding claims of the papacy to hold all power, both spiritual and temporal, by virtue of the pope's office as the vicar of Christ. The Catholic "two swords" doctrine taught that the pope delegates the "temporal sword" to the magistrate on the condition that THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: PATIENCE Waiting is hard. Whether it is sitting at a traffic light or standing in a checkout line, we have no choice but to wait and watch the seconds tick slowly by, often with gritted teeth. We wait because we are dependent on things outside of ourselves – the timing of the lights and the number of cars, cashiers, and customers. These little irritations are minor compared to the many circumstances WHAT SHOULD CHRISTIANS THINK ABOUT CREMATION? Everywhere Christianity has spread, cremation has given way to proper and respectful burial. Christians have a robust view of the body, both in life and in death. THE GENTLENESS AND FIERCENESS OF CHRIST There is a wonderful incident in the Gospels that brings together Jesus' gentleness and fierceness. In Jn.8:1-11, we have recorded for us Jesus' encounter with the woman caught in the act of adultery. Her accusers brought her to Jesus to discover what he would say and do. Jesus' response stunned the woman's accusers, they melted away ashamed AQUINAS RECONSIDERED Aquinas indicates that human beings are enlightened by "the light of natural knowledge," which insofar as it is light is such by participation in the "true light," which is the Word.
