BRICK CITY WITH LEGO® BRICKS Brick City is a celebration of iconic buildings from cities around the world, carefully recreated in LEGO ® bricks by artist Warren Elsmore and his team. Take a world tour and d iscover highlights of cities across all seven continents. You’ll visit lively celebrations from New Zealand to New Orleans, tall skyscrapers from New York to Mecca, and imaginative castles from medieval Japan to JON CARSMAN: THE SCENIC ROUTE Share. Realist painter and printmaker Jon Carsman (1944 – 1987), who was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, will be the focus of a works on paper exhibition at the Reading Public Museum from January 25 – May 10, 2020. The show examines the sometimes complex relationship between French Impressionism of the 1870s and 80s and the American interpretation of the style in the decades that followed. ARBORETUM - READING PUBLIC MUSEUM The Reading Public Museum hosts an impressive arboretum that covers 25 acres of lushly appointed and carefully maintained natural beauty. An accredited station for the United States Bureau of Plant Industry, many of the 65 distinctive specimens in the park today are from the original planting in the late 1920s. MUSEUM LEGO® BUILD CHALLENGE The contest will consist of 3 phases: Submission Phase - Build and submit a photo of your entry before June 25, 2021 at 6AM EST. Judging Phase – Judges will review the entries and choose the winners by July 5, 2021. Winners Announcement - We share the winners (for each category) on Facebook no later than July 15, 2021. For questions, call 610.371.5850 x258. Museum Discovery Camp is for children entering grades 1 – 6 in the fall of 2021. Camp days are from 9am – 4pm. Early drop-off is available Monday – Friday in the morning beginning at 8am (additional $10 per day) and late pick-up is available Monday – Thursday until 5pm (additional $10 per day). DINNER SERIES

ACROSS THE ATLANTIC: AMERICAN IMPRESSIONISM THROUGH THE This extraordinary exhibition, drawn mostly from the collection of the Reading Public Museum, explores the path to Impressionism through the nineteenth century in France. The show examines the sometimes complex relationship between French Impressionism of the 1870s and 80s and the American interpretation of the style in the decades that followed. THE FUNNIES: VINTAGE COMIC STRIPS 1940S–1960S Transport back to the age where newspaper comics captured the imagination of the nation.
