Hello, I wish to have my portfolio reviewed and advised, critiqued on what could be done to help me find work and finally get some paid gigs with this. it has already been a long trip so telling me again I'm only starting would be falsehood to me, but I recognize there is always room to improve, for me, for everyone, even those workingtoday.
UDIM VS UV SETS ?
UDIM is basically uv sets on steroid. From what you describe it looks more useful for VFX / Cinematic jobs where you need ( and can ) use 20 16K Maps on a Hero Char or Hero Props. The auto connect features looks really interesting that might be a good argument to use them. MS WORD INSERT PICTURE ALWAYS TOO BIG! But most CG images are automatically set to 72 or 96 DPI, which makes them print pretty large (and blurry). Best bet is to reset the images' DPI to 300 before loading them in Word. XnView can do this in a batch, so can Photoshop. XnView = Resize with Resample unchecked, Units = 300 pixels/inch. Acumen, I'm in word 2010, I right clicked the ZBRUSH - EDIT OBECT DISABLED If so simply draw the new copy, hit edit on that one. You should have two tools inside the scene now. Foliage meshes in game are usually made using flat planes with a Transparency map containing a bunch of leaves (or grass blades). These textures are used instead of modeling each leaf or blade of grass discretely, because they would slow the framerate too much. Also the increased vertex count uses much more memory.
