HAND SURGERY
In Canada, most of the hand surgery and medical management of complex hand health problems is performed by plastic surgeons. Fractures Most broken bones of the hand heal with casting for a period of 4 weeks. However, some fractures will require surgery to better align the broken fragments. These operations are performed by plastic surgeons.LIPOSUCTION
Liposuction is an effective procedure to help remove isolated areas of fat that cannot be managed through diet and exercise. It can be effective on many areas of the body: arms, abdomen, hips, thighs, calves, ankles, and under the chin. Results are usually best in patients with good skin tone and elasticity. Considerations Beforecommitting

SKIN RESURFACING
Skin resurfacing is recommended to improve loose, wrinkled or discolored skin brought on or aggravated by age, sun exposure, heredity, smoking or acne. AS DOCTORS AND MEMBERS OF THE CANADIAN SOCIETY OF PLASTIC SURGEONS, THE HEALTH OF OUR PATIENTS REMAINS OUR PRIMARY CONCERN AND OBLIGATION. IN AN EFFORT TO STOP THE SPREAD OF THIS VIRUS, EACH MEMBER HAS HAD TO ALTER HOW PATIENT CARE IS PROVIDED AND ALREADY, MANY PATIENTS HAVE HAD THE TIMELINE OF THEIR TREATMENT ALTERED. ALTHOUGH THE PRACTICE OF EACH INDIVIDUAL SURGEON MAY DIFFER, PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT AS A SPECIALTY, WE WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE TO PROVIDE CARE TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITIES. EMERGENT CARE AND URGENT CARE WILL ALWAYS BE PROVIDED IN A TIMELY MANNER. IN AN EFFORT TO MINIMIZE THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS, INDIVIDUAL SURGEONS MAY CHANGE EITHER THE TIMELINE OR METHOD OF HOW LESS URGENT MATTERS ARE ADDRESSED. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL YOUR SURGEON’S OFFICE FOR FURTHER GUIDANCE. ALTERNATIVELY, YOU WILL FIND THE LOCATE A SURGEON PAGE ON THIS WEBSITE TO BE VERY HELPFUL IN IDENTIFYING PLASTIC SURGEONS IN YOURAREA.
