The federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act includes financial assistance to stimulate the economy and assist those struggling during the economic downturn resulting from the COVID-19 emergency. The two main types of financial assistance for individuals and families are stimulus payments and expanded MAWD POLICY CHANGES DURING COVID-19 These policy clarifications are the state’s attempt to maximized MAWD enrollment during the COVID-19 emergency. If you or someone you know has lost MAWD or MA coverage during the pandemic, please call our Helpline at 1-800-274-3258. We will be happy to assist and provide guidance during these uncertain times. MEDICAID ELIGIBILITY PHLP helps Pennsylvanians who are uninsured or underinsured by assessing their eligibility for Medicaid and advising them about the application process. We also help when Medicaid benefits (coverage) are denied or terminated inappropriately by advising or representing individuals in the appeal process to help them get coverage. We work directly with people applying for or receiving Medicaid DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES ANNOUNCES HEALTH PLANS In July 2020, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced applicants selected through a Request for Applications (RFA) for Pennsylvania’s HealthChoices program, the Medicaid physical health managed care program that provides healthcare coverage to more than 2.6 million people. However, DHS is unable to move forward with the selections due to the pendency of MEDICAL ASSISTANCE (MA) COVERAGE OF OVER-THE-COUNTER (OTC In general, MA covers OTC medication when three requirements are met: (1) it is prescribed by a doctor, (2) the manufacturer participates in the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, and. (3) it falls into a covered category on the list. Some examples of covered categories include analgesics such as aspirin or ibuprofen; antacids; laxatives and stool ERIN GUAY - PENNSYLVANIA HEALTH LAW PROJECT Erin Guay. MEDICARE ANNOUNCES 2021 PART A AND PART B COSTS The costs next year will be: Premium: Everyone on Medicare is subject to a monthly Part B premium. In 2021, the standard premium will be $148.50/month (up from $144.60 in 2020). Most people will pay this premium amount next year. The new card design features a white background with black lettering. The new design is intended to better resemble a commercial health insurancecard.
