CRIT TO RECEIVE $1.8 MILLION IN GRANTS FOR AFFORDABLE The Colorado River Indian Tribes will be receiving $1.8 million in federal grant funds for affordable housing assistance. This is part of $450 million in affordable housing grants being made available to tribal governments to help their communities recover from the coronavirus pandemic. It’s part of the $1.9 trillion American RescuePlan Act.
SUSTAINED DROUGHT EXPECTED TO LEAD TO WATER SHORTAGE The drought that has enveloped the Southwest for more than two decades is expected to lead to a first-ever water shortage declaration for next year. The drought, now entering its 22nd year, has resulted in the water levels at Lake Mead dropping from an elevation of more than 1,210 feet at the start of 2000 down to about 1,080 feet right now. TYSON WASH BRIDGE WORK ON MOHAVE ROAD STARTS MONDAY The Colorado River Indian Tribes announced this week that the existing bridge on Mohave Road over Tyson Wash will be torn out and replaced with a new bridge. The project is expected to last a year, until March 1, 2022. The bridge is located just north of Ehrenberg on the southern end of the CRIT reservation. Bailey said this was a member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes. The matter was turned over to CRIT authorities and the FBI. At their meeting Nov. 2, the County Board of Supervisors held public hearings and approved three actions for a proposed solar energy project from Eolus North America, Inc. The actions approved by the board included GOSAR OPPOSES DEFUNDING POLICE, SAYS PRESIDENT TRUMP VERY Gosar opposes defunding police, says President Trump very energetic.
