SAFE SYSTEM
Safe System is a shared responsibility between government agencies at different levels and a range of multi-sectoral agencies and stakeholders (road managers, vehicle manufacturers, emergency medical system providers, safety rule compliance managers, employers, road users) to take appropriate actions to ensure that road collisions do not lead to serious or fatal injuries. Full report PACTS What kills most on the roads – Report Most people who die on the roads are much more likely to be killed in a car, or by a car, than any other mode. By contrast, pedestrians and cyclists are rarely involved in collisions that result in the death of other road users. PACTS REPORT: DRINK DRIVING Drink Driving – Taking Stock, Moving Forward is produced by PACTS in association with University of Stirling and University of Dundee says:. DRUG DRIVING: THE TIP OF AN ICEBERG? A REPORT FROM PACTS Commenting on the report, David Davies, Executive Director of PACTS, said: “This report by PACTS shows we still lack answers to vital questions on drug driving. The number of offences and deaths detected so far may be only the tip of an iceberg. The police have made big strides in catching drug drivers over the past five years. E-SCOOTERS: COOL BUT WHERE ARE THE BENEFITS? PACTS points to the growing evidence of the health and safety disbenefits of e-scooters and their questionable environmental credentials. Use of e-scooters is currently illegal on public roads in the UK. PACTS believes that trials, despite the restrictions proposed, will be seen as a green light to general, unregulated use by thepublic.
