In 1918, The Olympic Club assumed operation of the financially-troubled Lakeside Golf Club and its 18-hole course designed by Wilfrid Reid. The Club quickly realized that they would need to expand their country home and purchased enough acreage to replace the original course with two new 18-hole golf courses (the Lake and Ocean Courses), as well as build a new clubhouse.THE OLYMPIC CLUB

With a rich golf history dating back to 1955, the United States Golf Association (USGA) and The Olympic Club are excited to bring to San Francisco the 76th U.S. Women’s Open Championship. The championship will be conducted June 3-6, 2021 and will be the first time in Olympic Club history the storied venue will host a USGA Women’sChampionship.

Lake Course - Hole 12. Par 4. This tee shot has a very narrow opening as the tall Monterey pine and cypress trees hover 100 yards off the tee. This hole has been lengthened about 35 yards and now is one of the more difficult holes on the back nine. The tee shot should beTHE OLYMPIC CLUB
Lake Course - Hole 5. Par 4. The fifth hole is just the opposite of the fourth hole and has been lengthened 40 yards. The target off the tee is to play left of the small flat top tree with a fade. THE OLYMPIC CLUB
Considered by many the jewel of the Club, the 9-hole par-3 executive Cliffs Course features sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf designed the course, which opened in 1994 and currently features our only holes west of Skyline Blvd.THE OLYMPIC CLUB
Lake Course - Hole 1. Par 5. A reachable par 5 in two, the tee shot calls for a fade and the second shot will be a downhill approach to a small green. Be aware of the wind as it usually blows left to right on your second and or third shot. The two fairway bunkers are positioned 50 yards short of the green. Guest Cards are required for unaccompanied member-sponsored guests and reciprocal club members who wish to use the athletic or dining facilities. Guest Cards are issued by the Front Desk at the City Clubhouse and at Lakeside. There is a per-day charge for Guest Cards. Guest Cards for Bay Area residents are valid only one (1) day permonth.
