DICOMscope is a free DICOM viewer which can display uncompressed, monochrome DICOM images from all modalities and which supports monitor calibration according to DICOM part 14 as well as presentation states. Ein schneller Wissenstransfer aus der Forschung in die Wirtschaft im Wettbewerb mit internationaler Konkurrenz ist die entscheidende Grundlage für das wirtschaftliche und damit auch soziale Wohlergeheneines Landes.
Wir haben uns diesen Transfer zur Aufgabe gemacht: Als An-Institut der Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg setzt OFFIS seit seiner Gründung 1991 wissenschaftliches Know-how aus der Informatik in Prototypen um, die dann von Wirtschaftspartnern zu marktfähigen Produkten weiterentwickelt werden können. Damit leistet OFFIS für Unternehmen und Institutionen Forschung und prototypische Entwicklungsarbeit – und das auf höchstem internationalem Niveau. FUE UND COMPETENCE CLUSTER Energie, Gesundheit, Produktion und Verkehr – das sind die vier anwendungsorientierten Forschungs- und Entwicklungsbereiche, in die sich OFFIS strukturiert. Durchzogen werden diese Bereiche von dem Wissen aus verschiedenen Technologiefeldern. Das Ergebnis dieser Arbeit wirkt auf zwei Ebenen: Zum einen hat sich OFFIS national wie international als Center of Excellence für ausgewählte Anwendungsgebiete der Informatik einen Namen gemacht und OFFIS-Entwicklungen werden von Industrien und Institutionen auf der ganzen Welt genutzt. Zum anderen versteht sich OFFIS regionalpolitisch als Innovationsmotor, durch den Wissen vor Ort bleibt und neue zukunftsfähige Arbeitsplätze für den Nordwesten geschaffen werden.ENGAGEMENT
OFFIS fördert über die Neuansiedlung von Start-Ups und die Unterstützung von Spin-Offs den Prozess an der Schnittstelle zwischen Forschung und Produktentwicklung. In gleicher Richtung wirkt das starke Engagement von OFFIS bei der Aus- und Weiterbildung, als Veranstalter von Fachtagungen und Schulungen sowie auf institutioneller Basis mit der "IBS IT & BusinessSchool Oldenburg" .
