NYTW productions have won virtually every major theatre accolade, including the Pulitzer Prize and 25 Tony Awards. These honors affirm the idea undergirding everything we do: trust the artist. We believe that making great theatre means giving artists the liberty to follow their vision—no matter how outrageous, unexpected, or surprising itmay be.
NYTW / 2020/21 SEASON December 16, 2020—December 20, 2020. We're hosting our very own holiday variety show featuring some of our theatre community's brightest. The evening will include festive holiday classics, dance—both nice and naughty!—and some Follies fun to bring us all together for some laughs this season. NYTW Gala. A quarter century ago, Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking musical, RENT, opened at New York Theatre Workshop. From its humble beginnings at NYTW, this rock musical went on to shape a generation. What began in the East Village traveled to Broadway, across the nation and around the world. On March 2, 2021, join us for our biggest NYTW / 2050 ARTISTIC FELLOWSHIP AT NEW YORK THEATRE WORKSHOP NYTW will accept up to six playwright or director 2050 Artistic Fellows per season. These fellowships will entail a one year commitment from June to June. 2050 Fellows are awarded a modest stipend and an artistic development fund to support fellowship projects, attend performances, research and travel. NYTW Gala. A quarter century ago, Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking musical, RENT, opened at New York Theatre Workshop. From its humble beginnings at NYTW, this rock musical went on to shape a generation. What began in the East Village traveled to Broadway, across the nation and around the world. On March 2, 2021, join us for our biggest NYTW / 2050 ARTISTIC FELLOWSHIP AT NEW YORK THEATRE WORKSHOP NYTW will accept up to six playwright or director 2050 Artistic Fellows per season. These fellowships will entail a one year commitment from June to June. 2050 Fellows are awarded a modest stipend and an artistic development fund to support fellowship projects, attend performances, research and travel.
