Betty Rose Baumli, 85, Maryville, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville. She was born October 26, 1935, in Jacksonville, FL to Sidney and Lucy Spreitzer Mickler. On April 12, 1980, she married Matthew B. The $11.1 million budget projects $176,000 more in sales tax revenue compared to last year. The road and bridge gravel taxes are expected to come in about $3,650 more and $150,000 in additional use tax monies than in EMERGENCY DISPATCH CONSOLIDATION EFFORT PUTS RUBBER TO THE Officials from the county’s law enforcement entities listened to a report for the potential consolidated 911 dispatch center. The study, conducted by SCG Consulting Services, detailed the pros and cons for consolidation. It touched on everything from financial benefits and concerns to governance and location. Dowden HEALTH BOARD WAVES FOOD PERMIT FEES At the May 19 meeting, the Nodaway County Health Center Board of Trustees agreed to waive the food ordinance permit fees for the upcoming year from October 1 to September 30, 2022. Administrator Tom Patterson gave the board copies of the food ordinance booklet which explains the provisions and details the fees and annual operating LIBRARY ANNOUNCES SUMMER PROGRAMS Maryville Public Library has started the Summer Reading Program. Sign up may be done at the library, 509 North Main Street, Maryville, or through the Beanstack app. Open to all ages. Grades one through adult may choose the challenge that fits the individual. The $11.1 million budget projects $176,000 more in sales tax revenue compared to last year.
