During one year, this equates to more than 10 million people. Every 9 seconds in the US, a woman is assaulted or beaten. HOMICIDES - 2021 - NCCADV January 1 - March 12, 2021 (7 homicides) Note: Mr. Drumond-Cruz was killed in a stand-off with police hours after he allegedly killed Ms. Cadavid. Three officers were shot by Mr. Drumond-Cruz during the altercation. Note: A 9-year-old girl was killed during a domestic violence murder-suicide. The Advocates’ Institute forms the foundation of NCCADV’s training program. It is intended for new advocates and those that feel they need a refresher. We offer it 2-3 times per year. DV Homicides in NC. This list serves as a memorial to the victims of domestic violence and their surviving families. It also shows the deadly impact domestic violence has here in North Carolina. We thank the media, advocates, allies, and surviving family members who help us with this project. To inform NCCADV of a death that is the result of DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM: OSNIUM The North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV) and the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NCCASA), with support from the North Carolina Governor’s Crime Commission, have identified and begun the implementation of a state wide data collection system that will be used in domestic violence and sexual assault providers across the state. TEEN DATING VIOLENCE Teen Dating Violence. Initiatives directed at adolescents and teens are vital to the movement of ending intimate partner violence in the state of North Carolina. It is reported that 1 in 3 teens will experience dating violence 1. We can work together to create individual, institutional, and cultural change. We work intentionally and actively to create safe spaces for survivors of DV. The voice and experience of survivors is the foundation of our work. We believe the domestic violence movement canchange society.
