Our building is used for artistic development, rehearsal, youth circus and the staging of events. It’s based in Hoxton, five minutes from Old Street. Retaining the features and character of an imposing industrial space, the building began life as an electricity generating station in 1896. Retaining the features and character of an imposing industrial space, the building began life as an electricity generating station in 1896. The Foundation Degree in Circus Arts aims to develop a broad range of the skills required as a professional circus artist. The training is 35 hours a week, 33 weeks in the year. Flying Trapeze 1 is suitable for complete beginners OR those who have completed an Introduction to Aerial course or Circus Arts 1 Aerial. As this course uses equipment at height, participants will need to strong and confident enough to support their own body weight – for at least 20 seconds – in order to get the most of the class. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS After lunch, candidates will take part in a theatre class and perform their 90-second presentation for the panel. Successful candidates will then proceed to Stage 2, where they will take part in an interview and Q&A session. During the audition, we consider physicality, musicality, and performance.
