The convention dates are THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4 THROUGH SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7 at the Millennium Hotel in Durham, NC. The show will be held on Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7. The Activity Schedule has all of the dates, times, and activities throughout the event. JUNE 2021 ISSUE OF THE CHRYSANTHEMUM – The electronic, color-version of the June 2021 issue of The Chrysanthemum is now on the website in the “Members Only” area. Remember – you need a password to access this area of the website. The password is being distributed throughout our chapters. General members need to contact either Anette Lloyd (anette.lloyd@mums.org) or Galen Goss (galen.goss@mums.org) to obtain the password. A NOTE for those with the hard copy of the June issue – we goofed and the cover says March 2021. Please take a pen and change the month to June. We all missed it when we proofed the draft copy. Sorry! NEW NCS FACEBOOK PAGE – NCS has a new Facebook page called “MUMS IN THE USA- NATIONAL CHRYSANTHEMUM SOCIETY, INC.” The url is https://www.facebook.com/Mums-in-the-USA-National-Chrysanthemum-Society-Inc-107945794334924 CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON MUM CHAPTER ACTIVITIES – The ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic is causing a number of our chapters to cancel meetings and plant sales. Before going to any meetings or other mum activities shown on our calendar or under a “Chapter Info” page, please check with the chapter to make sure the event is still happening. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy! NEW ARTICLES – We have two new articles. One discusses growing bonsai mums and the other discusses growing large disbudded chrysanthemums. They are located under the “More” tab and then under the “Journal” tab. Hope they help you in your growingtechniques.__
WORD PUZZLES – Did you know that we had some Word Puzzles on our website? Check them out – under “More, Just for Kids.” The puzzles are fun and a good way to involve young folks and new members and help us all learn more about mums. You don’t have to be a kid to do the puzzles – just a kid at heart! MUM PARTNERS ACROSS THE U.S. – NCS is continuing its initiative in which we have asked public gardens that have chrysanthemum displays to partner with us by displaying information about NCS and mums. For a complete list of our public garden partners, go to our “Links and Resources” under the “More” tab. PHOTO GALLERY WEBSITE – NCS has a website dedicated to our Photo Gallery. You can sort the nearly 170 photos by cultivar name, size, color, or class. Check it out! CALENDAR OF EVENTS – Be sure to check our calendar of events as the year progresses. It will contain chapter plant sales and other events that are open to the public. The calendar supplements the information that is included under each chapter’s page under“Chapter Info.”
