Die renommierte Rechtsprofessorin an der Columbia Law School, Katharina Pistor, tritt am 28. April für vier Wochen ein gemeinsames Fellowship des Max-Planck-Instituts für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht sowie des Hamburger Instituts für Sozialforschung (HIS) an. Im Rahmen ihres Fellowships, das sie pandemiebedingt leider nur auf digitalem Wege wahrnehmen kann, wird sie anlässlich verschiedener virtueller Veranstaltungsformatesprechen.

Die Welt wächst immer weiter zusammen: ob europäischer Binnenmarkt, die weltweite Verflechtung multinationaler Wirtschafts- und Finanzunternehmen oder die zunehmende Internationalisierung unseres Alltags. Gleichzeitig stößt unser Recht an Grenzen. Das Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht hat es sich daher zur Aufgabe gemacht, die gesellschaftlichen, wirtschaftlichen und rechtlichen Herausforderungen der Globalisierung wissenschaftlich zu untersuchen und kritisch zubegleiten.

PROFIL UND BESTAND DER BIBLIOTHEK Die Institutsbibliothek ist mit einem Bestand von 550.000 Medieneinheiten die größte Spezialbibliothek Europas zum ausländischen und internationalen Privatrecht und hinsichtlich ihrer Größe und ihres Serviceangebotes weltweit bekannt und gefragt. Ihr Bestand enthält Fachliteratur aus mehr als 200 Ländern. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die Beschaffung von Literatur aus schwer zugänglichen Ländern gerichtet, um diese wenigstens an einem Ort der Welt gebündelt zugänglich zu machen.mehr
