ALBUM REVIEW: SAXON
Probably the oddity of the Inspirations record, is the band’s cover of Toto’s 1978 hit single “Hold the Line.” It seems oddly out of character for Saxon, but they make it work.It also proves that even a renowned pop guitarist like Steve Lukather knew how to craft a raw metal riff.. AC/DC gets its due with bombastic and crushing rendition of the Bon Scott era anthem, “Problem Child ALBUM REVIEW: MOONSPELL Moonspell – Hermitage. Label: Napalm Records. BPMD – American Made. Label: Napalm Records. Release Date: June 12, 2020. I f we’re being honest, 2020 has been an absolute shitshow for just about everyone but the one percenters. This is one of the reason’s that BPMD’s debut album, American Made, is a party for the ears and a respite from our daily angst. The band consists of Metal Allegiance rhythm section Mark Menghi and Mike ALBUM REVIEW: NAPALM DEATH NAPALM DEATH – Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism. Label: Century Media. Release Date: September 18, 2020. I ‘m going to do something a little different for this review. This is my defense of Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism and why everyone should give this some spins with an open mind! The first single for this album was “Backlash Just Because” which is an awesome track and VIDEO PREMIERE: MOTIVE BLACK UNVEILS ITS DARK DUALITY ON L os Angeles-based Motive Black is the creative phoenix born of singer Elana Justin’s pain, tenacity, and resilience. This is, if memory serves, the band’s longest recorded song to date. The track is a winding journey between emotive moments and propulsive rhythms. The investment of time is worth the sonic payoff. This is a showpiece song, both bombastic and elegant. RANKING BLACK SABBATH: WORST TO FIRST Ranking BLACK SABBATH: Worst to First – The Studio Albums. T he birth of heavy metal began 50 years ago with the debut release by Birmingham, England’s vaunted heroes, Black Sabbath. Certain proto-metal bands began building the metal sound in the late 60s, but it was the release of Black Sabbath in February 1970 that turned outto be the
RANKING SYMPHONY X: WORST TO FIRST, THE STUDIO ALBUMS 8. The Damnation Game (1995) The first album to feature Allen on vocals, the album that contains what might just be my favorite Symphony X tune, “The Edge of Forever.”. The Damnation Game is a great second album, but feels like the band is still feeling out their sound. Despite this uncertainty, “The Edge of Forever” is a greatexample

ALBUM REVIEW: THE DAY OF THE BEAST Virginia blackened death/thrash masters, The Day of the Beast return with album number four, Indisputably Carnivorous, and it's a monster!ALBUM REVIEW: BPMD
The band consists of Metal Allegiance rhythm section Mark Menghi and Mike VIDEO PREMIERE: MOTIVE BLACK UNVEILS ITS DARK DUALITY ON L os Angeles-based Motive Black is the creative phoenix born of singer Elana Justin’s pain, tenacity, and resilience. The New York raised rocker pulled up roots in 2018 and moved to the West Coast for a fresh perspective in her life and art. This would ultimately lead to dynamic new relationships and the formation of Motive Black. ALBUM REVIEW: PRIMAL FEAR The album closes out with the epic 13-minute beast, “Infinity”. This is, if memory serves, the band’s longest recorded song to date. The track is a winding journey between emotive moments and propulsive rhythms. The investment of time is worth the sonic payoff. This is a showpiece song, both bombastic and elegant. ALBUM REVIEW: CLUTCH The album’s title track is quite bluesy and has some epic guitar work. It is a groovy kind of song with a haunting undertone. I mean, he is talking about bad decisions, so it is going to have this feel to it. Sult’s guitar solo is flawless. Maines’ bass adds a hip, strutting swagger to the feel of the track. RANKING TESTAMENT: THE STUDIO ALBUMS That being said, this list isn’t so much a “worst to best” ranking, but more of a “least good to best.”. So here goes. 12. Souls of Black (1990) In this writer’s not-so-humble opinion, this is easily Testament ’s “worst” album. While there are some coolsongs, I
UNLEASH THE ARCHERS INTERVIEW: BRITTNEY SLAYES DIVES INTO W hat a treat. Unleash the Archers have once again knocked it out of the metal park with its newest album Abyss. It will soon be released, August 21st to be precise, and it is a powerhouse record full of incredible storytelling and phenomenal instrumental work.
