One of the cheapest logo design programmes available, anyone who is comfortable using a computer can quickly and easily create incredible graphics on Canva. While there is a free version, the Pro version, available at £7 a month, unlocks all the available features. HOW TO PRESENT LOGO DESIGN I recently carried out a survey for the Logo Geek twitter community so I could find out what designers biggest struggles are. I discovered from this research that presenting logo designs was the most popular topic that people want to know more about. Because of that I’ve put this blog post together to explain how I present my own designs, which I hope readers will learn from. WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF LOGOS AND WHY DO THEY MATTER? Communicate brand values & additional meaning. Although a logos primary purpose is to identity, they can also be leveraged to communicate important brand messages and values. Just make sure to keep it simple ideally stick to just the one key idea. In light of that, I thought I might share some tips with those of you who are just starting out in the biz. 1. Don’t Limit Yourself. On the opposite side of the street a cup of coffee from McDonald’s goes for $1. Consumers are willing to pay a premium, but only if there’s enough value to pump into that $3 you’re about to hand the Starbucks cashier. Let’s say a designer creates a custom logo for only $50. DEVELOPING A BELIEF SYSTEM FOR BRANDS The belief system is the origin story. The creed, the icons, rituals, Lexicon, nonbelievers and leader, and once you put that together then you have created the belief system, which will open up a narrative. The creed is really why do you exist, which what’s your reason for being. Simon Sinek calls it the why.
